Oxbow Tavern is the newest venture of acclaimed chef Tom Valenti. Tom was the Chef/Owner of both Ouest and ‘Cesca, and the Executive Chef of Le Cirque, Alison on Dominick, and Butterfield 81.
Oxbow Tavern is a neighborhood spot serving modern American food with French influences
in a casual setting. We have two levels. Upstairs there is the main dining room and the longest zinc bar in Manhattan. Downstairs there is a cocktail lounge which also serves as a private party space, and is the site of future invitation-only dinners (announcement to follow soon).
Located in the heart of the Upper West Side, Oxbow Tavern is just 5 blocks from Lincoln Center, and is a perfect place for pre and post theatre dining. We are also one block from Central Park. We are open for lunch, brunch and dinner, and there is outdoor seating in the warmer months. Our cocktail program was designed by the owner of the famous cocktail bar Employees Only.
The name Oxbow is derived from the frieze outside of the restaurant that was sculpted by the artist Arturo Martin Garcia a half-century ago. Much like the frieze, it is our hope to become a true Upper West Side institution; a local, neighborhood restaurant that is a gathering place for Upper West Siders,
as well as for neighbors from all around the world.
